Hi, I’m Tara O’Mara, a Family Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Prairie Family Health here in Millet. I’ve been a nurse for more than 20 years and an NP for over 15, working across primary care, urgent care, addiction medicine, home care, and palliative care. My work has always centered around one goal: providing compassionate, accessible care that truly meets people where they’re at.
I’m proud to call Millet home. My husband and I live here with our daughter, and this community means the world to us. Opening Prairie Family Health is my way of bringing high-quality, relationship-based healthcare closer to the people who live and work here.
Over the years, I’ve supported patients in some of the most challenging moments of their lives — managing chronic disease, navigating addictions treatment, making urgent care decisions, or facing end-of-life transitions. Those experiences taught me the value of listening deeply, slowing down, and providing care that honours the whole person, not just their diagnosis.
